CONSUMER PRICE INDICES AND INFLATION RATES FOR JUNE 2022

The overall year on year inflation rate as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 7.9 per cent, in June 2022. As presented in Tables 1 and 2, the rise in inflation was mainly due to increase in prices of commodities under; food and non-alcoholic beverages (13.8 per cent); furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (9.2 per cent); transport (7.1 per cent) and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (6.8 per cent) between June 2021 and June 2022. Read More

Data collection for Kenya Continuous Household Survey (KCHS)

Data collection for Kenya Continuous Household Survey (KCHS) has began.

Data collection teams are visiting selected households for interviews in all the counties.
Data from KCHS is used for computation of various socio-economic indicators required for monitoring SDGs and National Development plans – particularly, indicators on Labour and Measures of Welfare (Poverty).
Data collection will end on 30th June.
