CONSUMER PRICE INDICES AND INFLATION RATES FOR FEBRUARY 2022

The overall year on year inflation rate as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 5.08 per cent, in February 2022. This was mainly due to an increase in prices of commodities under; food and non-alcoholic beverages (8.69 per cent); furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (5.41 per cent); housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (4.79 per cent); and transport (4.54 per cent) between February 2021 and February 2022, as presented in Tables 1 and 2.
