The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics has launched the Women and Men in Kenya booklet which provides facts and figures on the status of women and men in Kenya.The booklet represents indicators focusing on population, health, education, employment, governance, domestic violence, decision-making, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Speaking during the launch, KNBS Director General Mr. Zachary Mwangi said that the Bureau believes data should be relevant to the needs of users, accurate and widely disseminated in a timely manner. It should also be easily accessible to all, for use in informing the efforts of building the nation.
Mr Mwangi said “The need for and use of quality data is critical in planning and improving delivery of services. The Bureau thus places greater value on strengthening its statistical management systems to continuously improve the quality of statistics provided through promoting the use of best practices and methods in the production of statistical information across the National Statistical System.
