Overview
The second quarter year-on-year producer inflation was -1.79 per cent in June 2024 compared to 11.44 per cent recorded in June 2023. The index decreased from 140.39 in June 2023 to 137.88 in June 2024. Trends in the year-on-year Producer Price Index (PPI) and producer inflation rates from June 2021 to June 2024 are as shown in Figure 1 and Table 1. Over the period, producer inflation rate was highest in June 2022 at 16.52 per cent.
