Overview
The Kenya Vital Statistics Report 2024 presents a comprehensive analysis of vital events registration as guided by the Constitution of Kenya, Births and Deaths Registration Act (Cap 149), Marriage Act (Cap150), Children Act (Cap 141), Statistics Act (Cap 112), Data Protection Act (Cap 411C), and UN Principles and Recommendations for Vital Statistics. These frameworks mandate the Civil Registration Services (CRS) to register all births and deaths, the Registrar of Marriages to register marriages and divorces and the Registrar General to register child adoptions. The report supports civil registration monitoring and provides data on births, deaths, marriages and adoptions.
