Kenya Consumer Price Indices and Inflation Rates-May 2016

Kenya National Bureau of Statistics hereby releases Consumer Price Indices
(CPI) and inflation rates for May, 2016. These numbers have been generated
using data collected during the second and third weeks of the month under
review. The prices were obtained from selected retail outlets in 25 data
collection zones located in Nairobi and 13 other urban centers.
The CPI increased by 0.55 per cent from
167.07 in April 2016 to 167.99 in May 2016. The overall inflation rate in
May 2016 stood at 5.00 per cent.
