Overview
This publication has been prepared as per the guidelines of the United Nation Framework for the Development of Environment Statistics (UNFDES) on useful data sets and analysis. The report covers a wide range of environment topics to facilitate one stop access and use of environment statistics for evidence-based decision making. The report provides statistics for monitoring of national, regional, and global development frameworks such as Kenya Vision, 2030; the Medium-Term Plans; the Africa Development Agenda, 2063; the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, 2015–2030; the Paris Climate Agreement 2015 and the Sustainable Development Goals, 2030 (SDGs, 2030). This report provides a comprehensive scenario of the environmental situation of the country and provides an important instrument for policy integration and informed decision making. The Compendium covers a wide range of environmental issues that are grouped into six categories: Environmental Conditions and Quality; Environmental Resources and Their Use; Residuals; Natural Extreme Events and Disasters; Human Settlements; Environmental Protection, Management and Engagements.
