Overview

Kenya’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.6 per cent in 2025 compared to a growth of 4.7 per cent in 2024 supported by positive growths in all sectors of the economy. Notably, Agriculture, Forestry
and Fishing sector, which accounts for over twenty per cent of the total economy expanded by 3.1 per cent. Construction activities rebounded from a 0.7 per cent contraction in 2024 to grow by 6.8 per cent in 2025. Similarly, Mining and Quarrying sector recovered from a 7.8 per cent contraction in 2024, to 14.9 per cent in 2025 partly driven by increased production of minerals used in cement production. Other sectors that recorded notable growth included Accommodation & Food Service (15.6%), Public Administration (8.3%), Financial & Insurance (6.5%), Information and Communication (4.8%). Transportation and Storage (3.7%) and Wholesale and Retail Trade (3.6%).
