2025 Economic Survey

In 2024, Kenya’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.7 per cent, compared to a revised growth of 5.7 per cent in 2023. The growth was noted in most of the sectors of the economy with Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing growing by 4.6 per cent compared to 6.6 per cent growth in 2023. Other sectors also had notable growths including Financial & Insurance Activities (7.6%), Transportation and Storage (4.4%)
and Real Estate (5.3%). Construction however, recorded a contraction of 0.7 per cent down from a growth of 3.0 per cent in 2023. Similarly, mining and quarrying recorded a contraction of 9.2 per cent compared to a 2023 contraction of 6.5 per cent as evidenced in the reduced production of key minerals, including construction materials, titanium, salt (crude), and gemstones.
