The Kenya Integrated Household Budget Survey (KIHBS) was designed to collect key information for computation of updated poverty and inequality indicators, to update the labour force indicators, derive the consumer price index, and revise the national accounts information.
The survey was also aimed at providing data on key socio-economic aspects of the Kenyan population which include: education, health, energy, housing, water and sanitation. This data is critical to the national and county governments and private sector for the purpose of guiding investment and national development policy decisions. The basic report provides a reflection of the socio-economic status of the Kenyan population.
