This County Statistical Abstract is a single source of information that provides a five-year data
series. It contains a comprehensive set of indicators that are useful for planning, monitoring and
evaluation as well as providing useful information for research. The preparation of this Abstract
has been co-ordinated by the Department of Finance and Socio-Economic Planning in collaboration
with county departments, Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, National Government Departments
and other stakeholders represented in the county. The information was compiled mainly from the
administrative records and partly from the recent surveys and censuses. The source of the statistical
data is shown under each table.
The publication aims at providing statistical information on economic, demographic and social
dimensions in Makueni County. Additional information, whenever available, will be supplied by the
