The Bureau hosted the above workshop on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which was officially opened by Hon. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, E.G.H and Minister of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 on 15th February 2010 at Laico Regency Hotel. The workshop was organised by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Union Commission (AUC).

The overall objective of the workshop was to ensure that MDGs reporting is improved and up-to-date for the period 2010-2015, and MDGs databases are available at country and international level to monitor progress of African countries in the achievement of the MDGs.

The workshop gathered participants from all African countries, with one representative of the countrys’ National Statistical Office (NSOs) responsible for MDGs databases; development partners; sub-regional Organizations and regional institutions
